Why Train Your Dog

There is a lot of added fun and a sense of accomplishment for you and your dog when you accept an take on the task of training your dog. Not only that, but trained dogs, are happier dogs. They are less apt to get into fights with other dogs and will tend to associate and interact with dogs that they meet in public in a much more positive and friendly way. This short video will give you an idea of what you can train you dog to do. thanks to Alterramedia on youtube for the video!

Another thing that should be considered, is that it is extremely important to have a well trained and obedient dog if you have small children at home or in the neighborhood simply for safety sake. Remember, just like well behaved children, a well behaved and obedient dog makes for a happier household.

Milan Kundera said “To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring …. It was peace”. Taking the time to obedience train your dog will strengthen your companionship and will ensure a life long friend. The time that you commit to training your new puppy or dog initially will pay dividends for years to come and the satisfaction you can get from your dog and he from you will last a lifetime. Considering the bulk of time that you will be with your dog the time spent in training is minimal and truly worthwhile.
